Speaking of cotton, I just read something that talked about libraries and the pages in books crumbling apart because of the acid in modern paper.

The article said that most books that have the old-fashioned cotton-based paper are totally fine, even if hundreds of years old.

(It was more interesting if you had seen the article I read ...)
