I find this technology interesting. The initial application is Marine - no canyons or forests there. The possibility of commercial vessels like freighters and cruise ships using this technology and using the Wi-lan capability to provide full-blown high speed Internet connectivity to passengers (or crew) in their staterooms, on deck, or where ever they take their laptops, seems like a strong competitive advantage. Have you checked on the current facilities on cruise ships? They are just now beginning to install Internet Cafes. This technology seems to one-up that quite nicely.

Same for trains. Amtrak and urban commuter trains could provide Internet connectivity in transit. That would provide additional incentives for people to use trains over driving to work.

Lots of possibilities if you think about it.
