Why did you get two flu shots in one season?

Giuliani is advising everybody in NYC to get the shot.

So far neither N nor I has had the slightest side effect. A first. Not even the hot, sore arm. I've heard that a second injection can't hurt you, so I think we'll choose paranoia and decide that that weird MD in the walk-in office was shooting us up with sterile water. Our internist won't have the vaccine until mid November, though.

Anyone who doesn't want to take the chance of getting the flu should get the shot, imo. Though if everyone did that, they'd run out of vaccine in five minutes, so I guess it's a violation of the categorical imperative. I should look that term of philosophy up in google before I use it. You can still get the flu if you get the shot, but it's supposed to not be so bad....

Edit:

The only principle which fulfills these requirements is the categorical imperative which dictates the universalizability of our actions: "act only on that maxim by which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law."

First google result. I actually used it correctly!
