I received semi-official notice that I have been fired as an investment advisor. Actually, we had a meeting late last month in which this was discussed. It was agreed that I would continue for one more month while the client came up to speed with AIM. Today, I got an e-mail saying that all the AIM accounts would be inactive (except for the limit orders I leave in place) until the client comes fully up to speed with the AIM Template Spreadsheet from the aim-users.com site. The client can afford to purchase Newport or one of the other programs, but I insisted that it would be FAR better to learn the under the hood details, so that confidence could be built in what the system does.

I'll miss the income and the association more than I can ever express. I suspect that the reasons are multi-faceted.

- the market downturn of the last 18 months has left the accounts quite cash poor (except for the IRA with GNSS in it!!!!), and a very low frequency of trading as a result

- Now that the divorce is really a distant memory, taking control of all details of life and beginning to plan for the future is a MUCH higher priority, especially since the client is now approaching 40. Reliance on others for this service is becoming increasingly uncomfortable.

- Did I somehow fail to meet the client's expectations of service for the renumeration received? I don't think I'll ever know the answer to that one.
