Paul,

Mossberg (Personal Technology WSJ column) has been saying for years that all most people need is an Internet Appliance. Whenever a new onw comes out, he reviews it and says it's great but it doesn't do this, doesn't do that, is missing this function. I don't think it ever dawns on him that what he is describing is a PC, which you can get for slightly more than an "Appliance".

My read is he hates Microsoft and thinks microprocessors are a commodity. He always recommends getting the cheapest microprocessor you can get.

I've only read a few articles from Gillmor. He may be worse but has a smaller audience.

John
