Tench, come on. IA-64 is a new microarchitecture with new instructions. x86-64 is almost 100% compatible with IA-32. I know that in the days of 16-bit code we did not have to do much to get our apps to compile in 32-bits other than change some macros and typedefs. I don't see why it would have to be any different for x86-64.
