Just read Merrill Lynch's report on LUKoil. It was high risk, but rated a NT and LT BUY.

Russia likely to delay Lukoilstake sale

MOSCOW - Russia said on Thursday it would probably delay a sale of six
percent of the country's leading oil company LUKOIL until early next year.

The government has 15.5 percent of LUKOIL and had hoped to earn $700
million from the sale of a six percent stake this year. But Deputy Property
Minister Alexander Braverman said this would probably have to be delayed.

"It seems likely that due to a whole range of market factors, it would be
sensible to start placing the (LUKOIL) shares at the start of next year,"
Braverman told a news conference.

The government has already delayed the LUKOIL share sale several times
from an initial planned date of mid-2001. /Reuters/
