re: Once AMAT singles out a small company, it maybe time to invest into that small company

That depends. Why would AMAT invest in a small company? To make money on the investment? Maybe. Or to jumpstart a new technology, a trial balloon, test a market? The relationships between a little company, and the big company that is financing it, frequently is for other reasons, and leads to other results, than a rising stock price for the little company. That's true even when the big company owns a lot of the little company's stock.
