limtex: That is the fun. Dr J and Qualcomm keep coming out with ways to help improve our world through the wireless / internet (intranet) nexus.

Will this be where the future lies, or will it go to those hunkered down behind the moats of Fortress Europa (where CDMA is prohibited in current spectrum ) and only GSM/GPRS will be permitted in that spectrum by the EU until hell freezes over - WTO rules and standards be damned.

What the legacy folks have is the media in their pocket. (The naive say due to inertia and stupidity, the realists say the jangling of coins.)

The way the US East Coast media ignores 1x and sticks to the European party line that 3 G will not be here in the US until 2004 is mindboggling, but perhaps simply "bought".

Is that enough? Perhaps. As we have learned in politics, perception (phoney though it may be) wins over reality frequently.

And as long as the US media marches in lock step to the European nonsense, there is limited access to the truth.

So there are no slam dunks based on superiority in the real world. Advantage perception. Disadvantage, CDMA 2000.

Bets?
