I always try to split the spread as well, unless of course I use GTC limit orders below the spread. Since the volume on this stock is so low, it may not be easy to get, but if you get it I think it will treat you right.

I spoke to National Healthcare's investor relations dept. today. They were very open and spoke of the strategy involved with the company's acquisitions and teaming agreements and said there would be more press releases in the near future and that they expect the trading volume will increase accordingly ( sort of an indirect way of saying they expect the price to go up as well ).

I encourage all interested parties to give them a call ( see thier homepage for the number ), ask questions, and form your own opinion. I am very bullish on this stock for the next 12 - 18 months.
