I went to a free seminar called "Evening with the Exchange" in San Francisco on 10/23/01 which was sponsored by Market Compass (an options education firm). There were presentations related to trading (such Chris Manning) as well as presentations focussing on the September 11 (such as a speaker from the Pacific Exchange talking about getting the "system" up and running afterwards and Jon Najarian arguing that the terrorists or their associates most likely did use options to benefit from their attacks). There was an element of marketing involved (the eTrade presentation was the worst example) but it was still interesting. They plan on doing more of these events in the future so (since they're free and reasonably interesting) you might want to watch for them (see www.MarketCompass.com).

TeachTrade (free registration) now has their 10/24/01 broadcast by Lewis Borsellino available. I think the broadcasts are kind of interesting.

"Open Outcry" (http://www.pbs.org/openoutcry/), the PBS documentary about the CME trading pits was somewhat amusing (it gets the energy) but in no way informative.

Pristine is offering free access to its services through Friday, 11/02/01.
