I said "hundreds of thousands," but I really have no idea how many cases of flu are prevented by the flu shots now, and how many would be if everybody got them. Tens of thousands?

It's certainly true that they don't protect you from every strain. But they must have some sort of stats on the basis of which they keep giving out shots year after year! -- and on the basis of which they recommend everybody in NYC get one this year. Surely. I mean, could it just be somebody's notion? I think if they guess right about the strain that's going to be prevalent, the shots are very effective; but sometimes they guess wrong.

Is there any way out of this? Is this future?

Well, I can't think of any way out of it. I think it's a holy war and a war of culture against culture, and that infidels and Western Civilization are the hated targets.
