Frank. Understood. A great many Americans aren't thrilled by the slow drift to the left and the increasingly incompetent, unethical and unaccountable behavior of a balooning central government bureaucracy and the almost perpetually reelected incumbents that manipulate it. The Gary Condit episode a was prima facie example of the increasing role of chrony style government in the United States ala what's afflicted Japan and made them so slow and ineffective at dealing with the structural problems in their economy Democrat leaders in the House tried to "publically" distance themselves and spin the issue as solely the decision of Condit's district to decide in the next election. But behind closed doors it's been a different story. Before the war and continuing domestic emergencies, there was serious talk of removing Condit from the highly important House Intelligence Committee. Reason? He was so concerned to hide all details of his large number of sexual adventures that there is real and justifiable concern that he could easily be blackmailed into revealing national security secrets. But in retrospect we see it was only talk. Like a lot of problems and issues the modus operandi is tell the public what they want to hear till the furor subsides. Sure enough, once the camera and spotlight was off the political hacks, they not only retained him on that committee but also appointed him to a seat on the newly formed committee for Homeland Security!! Cronyism and a contempt for moral and ethical standards clearly outweighs both public opinion and concern for protecting our intelligence secrets. It's pretty apparent that there's considerable corruption and malfesance among party leaders as well as rank and file members of Congress in our government. We may see that and the continued drag of political correctness as two of the biggest problems interfering with effectively fighting and winning this war. For heaven sakes this government hasn't taken effective control of our borders!! That alone is simply incredible. JMVVHO of course<g> Isopatch
