There was a special on a few weeks ago. It showed some kindergarden kids coming in already lost. The point of the program was to identify some of the problems in the schools. It shows a young boy , disruptive, not able to pay attention, not willing to listen, etc. What they were saying is some of the kids coming in have no values at all. They do not know how to socialize, and it requires almost full time one on one to try to bring the kid into society. This child is not handicap it was due to the family or lack there of. The teacher had perhaps 12 or more students and she was saying trying to teach this one boy is a full time job. What I got out of the special , was the family breakdown, not the teaching system... Of course this was one special on education. Vouchers is great if your child is willing to learn and cannot due to surroundings .. He/she can get out. But what happens to the others? Standards get lower? More go through the system uneducated? I do not have any answers but learned more on the problems in our system.
