I agree with the nice things said about Scott and then some! It was obvious as soon as he came on board that he "gets it" about online communities. I was hoping to get my own next venture going well enough to lure him away from SI.

Not only has he been a wonderful representative of the company to its customers, he has more grace as a co-worker than I'll ever have. For example, I doubt that he ever let idiot programmers know that they're idiots. On the other hand, I loved doing so. Probably part of why he's leaving under his own power later in the game and I was thrown out of the game early. <g>

Scott is nice, sincere, and competent. He'll do well anywhere. He once asked me why people seemed to dislike him so much and I told him to just keep doing what he was doing and people would come around. What he was doing was avoiding the corporate-SI-speak that all of us recognize and despise so much, and just laying things out as they were without dressing them up.

I'm sure he's as well-respected and well-liked by his coworkers as he is by the community. And that'll be true wherever he goes.

Good luck, Scott. But I know you won't need it. You have no idea how cool it is that you're leaving on your own terms. Excellent!
