Those school districts that have "turned it around" more often than not have succeeded because they have worked hard to GET THE PARENTS INVOLVED in their children's education. Key word here is PARENTS.

Why can't Johnny read? Why can't Johnny do long division? Start by asking the parents whether Johnny is doing his homework at night or watching a lot of TV instead.

The academy for bad-asses, by the way, is still in operation.
