I'm not sure you're in the minority on this one. We should always be listening, but what Giuliani objected to was the Prince's statement that we should reconsider our Mideast policy in the wake of these attacks, thus inferring that our policies were the cause of the attacks, and that we should respond by making policy changes.

'Our friend' needs to work on his diplomatic skills.

This was a political act, and appearances are important in politics. The Prince chose to make his statement along with the gift, thus giving us the right to accept or reject the whole package. To carry the logic to a ridiculous extreme, if he had given money to the innocent victims while calling for the destruction of our state, there would be opposition to taking that money.

"Sorry you got mugged, but it was your own damn fault. Here's a few bucks to help you get back on your feet."
