You are either delusional or an apologist for the official lie about why we were in Viet Nam. We were there for the resources, we were there to exploit it. We felt that we could take over when the French didn't have the resources to continue their colonial reign. We didn't engage in a land invasion of North Viet Nam for the simple reason that the U.S. government wasn't stupid enough to foment a second Korean War, with millions of Asian soldiers defending their own native Asian soil against an expeditionary invasion force of foreign imperialists.

What in the world are you talking about.... defending democracy? You really do need to learn a bit about the purposes to which our military apparatus are put. Defending democracy doesn't even rank in the top ten.
