Dude, man, dude...
In the little hick town I live in the only gig in town next to Walmart and Fred Meyer is Office Max. I normally lump Orfice Max into the same category as CompUSA and Microsoft. They have us by the short hairs and they know it....BUT......if you want to upgrade to Microsoft XP....you can go to Office Max or OfficeMax.com (I checked, they have the same deal on website) and here is what you get:

For the home version you get McAfee Viruscan 6.0 which I was going to buy anyway as it works with XP and has a built in firewall. That saved me $39. It also comes with a 256K PC 133 Memory upgrade that I can't use because I added 256K a earlier this year at over $100 bucks a stick but I can stick it in the wife's PC. It also comes with an XP compatible digital camera, similar to the Quickcam kind. I could care less, but it was free.

I got the XP Professional Version which came with all of those things PLUS a CD-RW drive that is 12X write, 10X rewrite, and 32X read AND a Hewlett Packard flatbed USB scanner that is 600 x 1200 hardware resolution and 600 dpi optical resolution- not great but not bad, for FREE!!!

I paid $50 over the $199 everyone else is charging for the Professional version but it comes with a $50 rebate which evens it out except for all the free crap you don't get everywhere else.

If you don't see me on the internet after tonight, you can assume XP sux and it didn't work.
