In my view polls are meaningless because of the way the questions are posed.
Some polls are meaningless, some have poor coorelation, and some are very good. You really need to know a lot about he poll, or trust the pollster a lot, before relying of the data. Many poll questions habitually are skewed, but the relative changes can be accurate and informative.
