Don't forget to include the $9.5 Billion in costs that Intel deferred during the year.

AMD took the costs incurred during the year as costs - Intel deferred about one third of its costs, and will have to take those charges over the next few years.

AMD hasn't been filling its balance sheet with current costs and deferring them to become future expenses in order to fake its quarterly earnings.

Intel has, and sooner or later the quarterly earnings piper will have to be paid.

Intel's gross margins would look very different if they included more than 2/3's of their expenses when they calculate their margins.
