The clock in a computer is inaccurate because of the wide temperature variations (as opposed to a watch on a hand that is a more constant temperature).

There are solutions to this but are not implemented because of cost.

Dallas Semi (now Maxim) for example has a clock chip that will change the oscillator frequency depending onthe chip temperature, correcting for temperature variations.
