Niceguy, Re: "it's difficult to comprehend a negative change for INTC in one year of $10 BILLION in net income..."

How does that compare with AMD making their first profitable quarter in many years last year at $983 million in income, only to have that fall to an estimated loss of $45 million this year? Isn't that a decline of 105%?

Does it make it sound better to remind yourself of Intel's 95% drop in income, just so that AMD's 105% drop doesn't sound so bad, comparatively?

AMD put a lot of cash into fabs this year, didn't they? How are they going to pay for that, and another $45 million bill, caused by "getting even with Intel"? Is Hammer, Hammer, Hammer going to save AMD now? What will Intel have in 2003 when Hammer launches?
