1. The private sector has already proven that it cannot run a decent airport security system using competent, well trained employees. Instead, the private sector (i.e., the airline companies) hire people at minimum wage to save money, and that guarantees that security is given a low priority. If you think that having government employees do this job is wrong (as Bush does), just ask the Israelis, who have the best airport security system in the world. They think we're nuts to leave an important job like this to private airline company employees. And the Israelis are not what you would call "liberal" on issues like this.
Regarding "creeping socialism," apparently the kind of socialism that provides welfare for airlines, insurance companies, and yes, OIL COMPANIES, not to mention tax breaks for those who now pay the alternative minimum tax, is OK in your mind. I think it's time we stopped this welfare for corporate freeloaders.
2. Do those federal employees who purportedly vote Democratic include the CIA employees? Or the DOD employees? Since you know all the answers, please show us your data sources. Frankly, I think this is more ultra-conservative propaganda designed to cover up what a really lousy job this administration is doing trying to run the government. Fact is, many of these idiots have nothing other than ideology running in their favor. They just don't know how to run the government because they think the only thing that counts is ideology, rather than experience.
