My understanding id that there are two benefits: (1) If they guess right and the dominant strain that season is in the vaccine, you get close to 100% protection. (2) Even if they're wrong, the virus you get, being influenza, will have resemblances to the strains in the virus and you get partial protection. You still get the flu, but not as bad because your body is partially prepared. Tjat's worth something to anyone and for high-risk people can be vital. Well, I can't think of any way out of it. I think it's a holy war and a war of culture against culture, and that infidels and Western Civilization are the hated targets. You're so cheering. :-) I'm not bin Laden. I really don't want WWIII. I'm perfectly content to let them live in peace if they will let me live in peace. So far, the US gov't has kept it from developing into that- -which appears to be exactly what OBL wants. Hopefully they will continue to be successful. But it's looking grimmer, I think.
