<< The press in America is stupid. >>

It's not easy to put on a 24 hour news broadcast, in a heavily competitive industry, like the news. Try to put together your own 10 minutes news broadcast, and see how many of your neighbors would be interested in watching your news. If you tried, you would be amazed at how many of your neighbors might call your coverage of the news, "stupid".

<< ... the press would never have thought to tell on radio where the troops were about to land, or what offensive plans were being talked about. >>

The press doesn't know when, or where our troop are going to land, unless our military wants them to know, ahead of time. Do you feel that the enemy is not discussing when or where the American invasion will be? Do you think that censoring our news is going to stop the Taliban from trying to figure out where our troops are going to come from?

You are blaming the messenger, because you don't like the message.

<< The press was on OUR side. >>

The press is our best weapon against the terrorists. When the press broadcasts a non-denominational memorial service throughout the world, featuring Christian, Muslim and Jewish speakers, and the world sees the strength and determination of Americans proudly waving the American flag, it shows to them that they will not beat America.

When the news shows Ray Charles singing America, before a packed stadium, filled with American flags, the news is showing the terrorists that they will not beat America.

When the news shows our leaders reporting on how many hundreds of thousands of food packages have been dropped to the starving Afghanistans, it shows to the world that we have compassion, besides our resolve to win. Using military planes to drop food, instead of bombs, shows the enemy that we can spare these planes. We have many more.

If you are going to condemn the free press for it's shortcomings or mistakes, at least take a breath, once in a while, to congratulate them for the good jobs they do.

Or, move to Cuba. The government restricts the press, and tries to limit the people to only what the government wants to people to "know".
