But the Japanese purpose in attacking Pearl Harbor was to render us impotent so that they could carry out their acquisition of other asian lands. That is all I was saying. They greatly miscalculated what it would take to put us out of commission. If they had calcuated correctly and made follow-up raids and a possible invasion of Hawaii the outcome would have been quite different.
