Now I think you're being a little hard on him. Lets face it, Wade Phillips is not exactly the guy I'd choose to lead a young QB. Thats what he had for several years. I'm also not convinced Buffalo has had that great a line. It's not just him that struggled behind those lines. They have had some pretty decent backs who did nothing and even Flutie was running for his life. In a way Johnson is more like Bledsoe. He needs a pocket and a running game to be effective. Sure, there are guys out there that can do more with less but that doesn't mean that the "less" is quality. Buffalo stinks in every way imaginable. It's easy to blame the QB for everything but there is plenty of blame to go around. Start with the owner
