It may be funny -- but it's true. The i845 and i850 chipsets are not compatible with AGP video cards that require 3.3V; they only support 1.5V AGP cards. However, only very old and poorly designed cards are affected since 3.3V cards should be mechanical incompatible with the AGP slot on the P4 boards (they don't have an additional notch that 1.5V cards have). But if you still manage to plug an incompatible video card in the motherboard, it will destroy the board and the card.

Many motherboard manufacturers have already acknowledged the problem, e.g. Asus:

I don't think that Intel is to blame on that problem, though. But I wonder why they didn't support 3.3V cards in the beginning?
