This one where you said. I'll use a real-life war analogy here. Each side is always going to accuse the other of starting the conflict. I can easily point out how AMD started it with their "25% discount" policy several years back. But then I'm sure someone else can point out something Intel did before that. As for BMW He stated this No, Bill. The downturn in the economy has forced Intel to lower prices to maintain processor demand. If AMD didn't exist, Intel would have still lowered prices in this situation. With AMD, Intel probably lowered their prices more than they would have otherwise, but AMD is not the major contributor to the price cuts. You just wish they were. wanna_bmw <<<<<<<<< My interpretation is that Intel lowered prices to spur demand, not because of a price war; and because of AMD's retailitory price cuts, wound up lowering farther than they had hoped. He clearly states that AMD's prices did not cause Intel's price cuts. Intel inflicted them upon themselves to spur demand. I agree with you in that this has been argued to long, so I will let it go.
