I didn't specify Moscow, I was talking about the country in general. In all candor, I've never been to Moscow, but have been to other regions of the country...I would hope that Moscow would present a better case for the nation.

I alluded to a relative that was a doctor and spoke Russian, and from information shared from he and his family I got my first impression of modern-day Russia. Granted! Most of his time was spent in Star City as he prepared for his mission on the MIR.....he was the first American to go live on the space station. One tidbit of what he said about the Russian plight was that if you didn't think there was need for duct tape....spend three months on the MIR.

I would hope that things have improved in Russia. When one reads in history books about the grandeur of the Hermitage and then actually visits it and sees the deplorable state that it's in.....sad!
