Bowers, the following represents a consequence of extreme trust in your point of view, leaving the free market to develop whatever devices it chooses without regard to those who aren't insiders, and guess who'll get left holding the bag ?

10 years ago I left a Wall Street trading room that dealt in some derivatives. What we have now is so esoteric that it is almost unbelievable, even for someone like me.

With problems coming to light in places like Enron, etc., I wonder if these companies really understood the risk they took on. There are many more to come.

The question I have is whether our financial system can or will survive the bursting of the rest of the credit bubble.
