I was even more concerned about this statement.

"The good news about this solution is that it guarantees that the CPU will survive; the bad news is that data safety is no longer guaranteed. The PC is not shut down properly, and instead it is switched off quite abruptly."

So even with the device installed, a thermal failure will result in lost data, as the CPU shuts down, and takes everything with it. While your CPU will still be operational at a later date, all your valuable data is gone, and that will surely cost your business far more than the price of a dirt cheap Athlon CPU.
