Well....It was JMVVH "overboard" opinion.<lol>

BTW, you are reply #7 to my post. Clearly I struck a nerve. Good!!!

Let's get people thinking beyond the PR blizzard of press conferences coming from gov officials vs them actually doing ANYTHING of substance to protect our domestic security. BIG DIFFERENCE.

First, patriotism and sacrifice isn't unknown to me. And I'm VERY aware that both my teenage sons will probably be called to serve our country and may lose their lives in that endeavor before this war is over.

But that doesn't change my well informed conviction that, during the past 10 years, the functional effectiveness of our central government has deteriorated to an extremely low (albeit politically correct) level of viability.

I repeat, "No nation that cannot control it's borders has a viable central government."

I'm not interested in agreeing with everyone else's opinion any more than I am interested in agreeing with the consensus at major turns in the stock market.

Although everyone in the government has given lip service for weeks to the cliche the the new war era we've entered represents huge change in all our lives, they aren't changing. It's the politics of gridlock and obstruction as usual. The real war, the valuable targets are HERE. NOT IN AFGHANISTAN!

Bombing empty tents in the Afghan desert isn't winning that war and is nothing but a distraction from the main responsibility of any central government. To protect the domestic security. Instead it's epic quantities of BS, spin, gimmicks and press conferences.

We can't have it both ways. If we're going to see our sons and daughters go to war and possibly sacrifice them in the process? Dammit I want these weasels in Washington to get their butts in gear and do some honest work to protect this country and it's citizens!!.

But I'm convinced that as the months pass, and repeated major terror strikes bring more destruction and loss of life YOU my friend AND everyone else will begin to move toward a realization of what my earlier post put forward. People will pull back the curtain of PR, spin and BS from this paralyzed and inoperative government and (like The Wizard of Oz) find nothing but a convincing TV persona created by pulling levers and pushing buttons to produce a convincing sound and light show vs a viable government taking the urgently needed and long overdue actions needed to protect the nation and it's citizens.

Like closing our WIDE OPEN open borders with Canada and Mexico. And our still WIDE OPEN airports.

OR most important of all? Change the Civil Service Act to eliminate tenure and restore effective discipline to government agencies and finally have the means to actually shrink this massive bloated bureaucratic frankinstein that's both unelected and completely unaccountable to the American People!!!.

We're on maximum alert right now. So I'd suggest you get ready for the "second smash" and the third and the fourth. Then maybe you'll "get it", instead of thinking I'm "a tad overboard".
