Hi Jim,

Um, well, 'er, uh, Hmmmmmm............. pretty hard to disagree with you for the most part. It isn't hard to see the market at least testing the Sept lows sometime soon. If those lows are taken out, it could get quite ugly as a breakdown in the equities markets will add a significant drag on the economy.

Perhaps we are in for some real trying times. Perhaps not. The Fed & the gov't may not be making all the right moves to stimulate the economy, but they are taking fairly aggressive stimulatory action. Perhaps we are about to see the economy stagger around punch drunk for a spell & then recover......... there will still be some areas that will do well or hold their own through all of this.

We still remain in an era of innovation. Productivity enhancing products & services continue to become available & many of these enhancements are less expensive to purchase/implement than the previous generation. To me, the big question is........... Will baby boomers go into a shell both at work & at play, thus nearly insuring economic problems near term............. or will they buckle down & focus on protecting their retirement years by staring their current fears & foes in the face & getting the job done now?

The human equation (psychology) may play a big hand in how this all turns out............ that & our success in winning the war on terrorism.

BWDIK?
