JG, Not only can you not ask me about Enron, but I don't know a diddly-danged thing, anyway. They are a closed-mouth bunch. Sort of like the Earp brothers. All I know is that the news gives me a queasy feeling. Such as, if a certain state in the west were to sue to renotiate energy prices, a month ago, they would have been laughed out of any court in the land. Now, a jury trial suing the evil co. in all the trouble might be an even odds sort of thing.

My calls are not cold, they are frozen. "Hi, I'm..." click. <g> But my favorite is, "we're doing as well as anyone else in this market. Terribly." "I can help you do better." "LIAR, LIAR!" I feel like I'm on the set of a Jim Carrey movie. <g>

I did get one guy to listen. He said "everyone is losing." I asked him if he was reading the Wall Street Urinal. This was Monday. Turn to page C18. Look down the list of closed end general equity funds. 40% are up for the past 52 weeks.

"Now do you understand that it is possible to make money?"

"Yes."

"Will you open an account?"

"No, but kiss Mom for me, bro." <g>

The only people I know trying to unload homes are the guys who have been driving them down the freeway in trucks. I don't think you are volunteering to do that sort of grunt work. <g>
