Hey Tony, your post reminded me of a conversation I had last week.

The guy builds 4-5 PCs/year for himself and family. He said he recently lost an Athlon as a result of accidently getting the heatsink clipped on 180 degrees out. While the keying mechanism is supposed to prevent this, in reality all it did was create a tiny (but non-heat-conducting) gap.

Power on, CPU toast.

He was especially embarrassed because two weeks earlier, his nephew had done the same thing - for which he had teased said nephew unmercifully.

Guess its easier to do than one might think/expect.
