I find it hard to believe that after just 4 days, the other Arab states were REALLY against more actions to take out the military targets that were still abundant in many areas. As for invading Baghdad....I don't think that is really what it would have taken to eliminate the many elite forces and air units. In addition, the insult of NOT forcing Sadaam to show his face at the signing of the surrender was really a dumb move....leaving Gen Schwartkoff there in a tent with lower generals didn't cut it....and the allowing of Sadaam to continue to be able to use helicopter gunships to slaughter his own people ("our allies") had NOTHING to do with UN sentiment or arab pressure.
The difference in this case...we are bombing a poor nation of people for the actions of a few crazies....without dealing with any of the real reasons behind the hatred...after all, we're STILL in Saudi Arabia 10 years after the other actions and have yet to admit that this is the real reason for the crazies attacking us on our own soil.
And I didn't really support that war which AGAIN was over OIL primarily....(and primarily caused by our SUPPORT of Sadaam during the Iranian war) When are we going to MAKE A STAND against the OIL factor in our policies????? WHEN?
after Nukes? or BEFORE!?
