The United States, like every other nation on the planet and like every individual, promotes its perceived self-interest. One of the beliefs held by the U.S. is that promoting peace, freedom, and democracy around the world is in our best long-term national interest. There are many who disagree with this belief, and that is their right, but such beliefs are not without consequence. As I stated near the start of this thread, the war on terrorism at its core is about acceptable grievance procedures. The U.S. will not tolerate terror as a political tool and has the means and determination to impose its will on this subject on those who disagree. Those who advocate terror as a political tool will reconsider this decision. And for this the world will, in time, be again grateful for U.S. leadership on this subject.
