I think the growth forecast is the hardest component to assess, and is the single largest source of error in the model, but a risk adjusted discount rate is probably the best way to go, and while valuation is extremely sensitive to it, I have no particular trepidation in applying it.

Can you expound on "value bias". I'm unfamiliar with this concept.

I don't use TA (I much prefer chicken guts, tea leaves, fatted bulls and vestal virgins); I just don't think market timing works. However, the one oracle I do consult with some frequency is Value Line-- their recs have a long history of out-performing the market.
