802.11b has known problems dealing with large block transfers such as in streaming video. HomeRF actually does a better job at this. 802.11a should also do a better job, as well as bumping the transfer rate from 11Mbps to 54Mbps. Plus because it operates in the 5GHz rather than the 2.4GHz range you avoid interference problems with cordless phones and microwave ovens.
