It's very interesting, that in ancient times, anybody who worked for someone else was considered to be in slavery. There was Voluntary Servitude(slavery).

Probably becasue you were 'bonded' to them for life since no one else would hire you. But you still had the CHOICE to go live in the jungles on leaves and twigs. Or worked for yourslef shining shoes for a nickel. But there was that CHOICE!
