I've held Athlons in my hand, I've installed them on boards, and I've installed heatsinks on them. They're symmetrical and it doesn't matter which way the heatsink is installed - there's no left or right, no way to even tell. Some heatsinks are rectangular and have to go on in 2 of the 4 possible orientations to clear the capacitors, but 180 degrees off just doesn't exist for Athlon. The retaining clip can only go one way but it's literally impossible to put that on wrong (two prongs on one side and one on the other. Maybe for P4 180 off is an issue(although I seriously doubt it), but not for Athlon.

Why do you guys keep making this stuff up?
