There is no "keying mechanism" for the heatsink on any socketed chip from AMD. The very idea is ludicrous.

But the original P4's required a 1 pound, case mounted, heatsink that could have used some such mechanism to latch it to the P4.

Which means that the system in question had to be a P4...
