That is again a mouthful.. I am not here to convince one way or the other what Islam is.. Obviously, you are trapped on the same 15-minute-on-net and you are an expert syndrome..

As for dissent, look closer.. There is a lot of sects, interpretations, philosophers within Islam as to the meaning and interpretation of Qu'ran, Hadith or more esoteric branches, like Sufism etc.. The number of books on various aspects of it is enough to spin your head..
