I saw a news item last night that quoted a Northern Alliance leader as saying American ground forces are not needed. That's interesting and I saw a story that the Taliban doesn't need the pro-Taliban Pakistan supporters. I suppose that means everyone is winning. That's what I like a win-win war. This is a bizarre war. I'm having a lot of trouble envisioning any sort of a stable government rising out of the rubble in Afghanistan. There is no one who has any workable plan in some sort of even temporary government in the wings. At the end of it. I see the US just walking away because it has no other choice and that's no great choice. jttmab
