Does my boss know I post from work? Yes. He often sits 4 feet away from my work station and literally looks over my shoulder. Does he care? No. Do I get my work done every day? Yes. Does the company care how I do it as long as I do it? No. Proof is in the pudding. I've been at my present job for 21-plus years. Does the fact that I'm a union member enter into the equation? No. Non-union people at my plant also mess around on the Internet during lulls in the action. Do I post at work every day? No. When the work load is heavy (like it was Tuesday), I stay off SI. Are there any company prohibitions about not getting on the Internet during lulls in the action? No.

So put to rest the fact that I'm "cheating" my employer by posting during work hours. Fact is, I ain't.

On the other hand, the case of a person who works for himself and posts on SI 50 times a day between 9 and 5 is far more insidious:

1. He imposes a greater work load on his employees.

2. His bashing habit forces him to spend more time in the office, thus taking away from quality time with his wife and children.

3. By spending so much time bashing his political foes on SI, he is not growing his business as he ought to.
