I assume after this 'goodwill’ gesture from rogue Pakistani elements that...today the letter has been released from Laden to over throw Pakistani government.

Honestly this report in Washington Post is bunch of slander. Let me give you some details, 50 people were given entries yesterday in Chamman, the point where alleged smuggling is taking place, some destitute other orphans some seriously injured, the border remains firmly closed 90,000 people wait on Afghan side to enter with a million ready to move from their villages if we open. From other side 275 people sneaked across unauthorised routes from Pakistan in to other side, 200 officials from UN to Red Cross man the border, undercover agents (females- forget about arms truck or supplies) check every veiled woman, so that Osama may not be able to get as woman out. I got this report through a reporter from UN Commissioner of Refugees in Pakistan monitoring that border.

Every moving car, truck is closely watched in the entire country by closely monitored satellites, the number 275 sneaked from porous terrain comes from magnified satellite pictures of high resolution, with this kind of control this fiction from anonymous sources is better to be called crap. This is a war of high resolution and no road traffic can go in without multileveled checking including our pleasant CIA station commander watching Quetta and Khyber Pas closely. Tell Washington Post to grow up, the genesis of this war does not allow this kind of conduct; it is irresponsible and naturally aimed at destroying the already screwed up image of my country, my country is involved in a thankless job, her mistake that it disappointed those lobbies who thought we are a gone case. Now that Pakistan is joining global community after million mistakes they know that it can be a new very stable state protecting the mouth of gulf and anchor with Turkey, a new alliance is in offing to protect the oil lanes as I am told. Extending Nato beyond Turkey!! I will not go beyond that.

To take in weapon is a joke of highest scale and of course totally inconsiderate. If this link had not come from you I would not even reply JP. Just ignore all this nonsense, if you want to live happily, if arms can go in so easily and under cover operatives can operate so easily, lets forget about Osama, the whole exercise to get him is ‘smoke him out’ if things move if operatives can move trucks in and if this true we are dead meat, the whole campaign will have no future, the wait is that they need to come out, the moment they come out they will be hit hard or decimated. For that to succeed we need to monitor every movement, every automobile, and any unauthorised vehicle is hit. A disclaimer here I do admit that when I escaped from Kuwait through that long journey to Pakistan in 1990, I remember entering Pakistan border from Mir Java in Iran, the road from Taftan to Dalbandin a 90 km journey took 12 hours, there was no road but on this rough patch very near to Iran Pakistan border I could see moving lights in the dark they were smugglers, the whole region is smugglers paradise the smuggle hugely subsidises oil and petrol
From Iran into Baluchistan and take it through the border into Afghanistan, the whole economy of that area is based on these porous borders but I doubt that anything can movie into AFGHSITAN from old spots, but may be some vehicles dodge and these smugglers may put in few litres here and there. These elements will sell their mothers to anyone but they are permanent scourge of the three countries there.

``Osama bin Laden called on Muslims in Pakistan to stand in the face of what he called a Christian crusade against Islam,'' a Jazeera newsreader quoted the letter as saying.

``Muslims in Afghanistan are being subjected to killing and the Pakistani government is standing beneath the Christian banner,'' the letter said.

In Gaza, British Prime Minister Tony Blair voiced support for Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf who he said ``is trying to do his best for the people of Pakistan.''

``I hope that people realize that the desire of bin Laden is to create Taliban-type states all over the Arab and Muslims world,'' Blair said at a news conference with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

Blair's official spokesman told reporters that the letter ''removes any doubts that he (bin Laden) is about anything other than destabilizing the region.''

Jazeera did not show the brief letter in full although extracts could be read from the image displayed on television.

``The crusader war against Islam has intensified...The world is split into two. Part of it is under the head of infidels (U.S. President George) Bush, and the other half under the banner of Islam,'' it said.

``...Standing against wrong will strengthen us,'' it added.
