First American Scientific Corp (FASC-OTC, BB)
VANCOUVER, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ - C. Kantonen, Chairman of FASC is pleased to announce that results from tests performed by Dr. Robert Salter Ph.D, P.Eng and Dr. Adelio Del Monte Ph.D in September 2001 conclude the KDS systems net operating capacity of 43 tons per day using 4 QT - 100 hardened steel breaking bars which, in Dr. Salter's opinion, "appears to be capable of meeting minimum performance requirements."
According to Dr. Salter's report, "the unit is very nearly ready for field trials at Beau Pre's site, however some test work remains to be done on hub, shaft and motor alignment and the new QT100 4x4 breaker assemblage. These are, for the most part simple short tests and it is recommended that they be completed before the unit is shipped to the mine site."
Further, Dr. Salter's report recommends testwork be undertaken to further strengthen the breaker bars by attaching white cast iron and/or tungsten carbide onto the QT 100 substrate which he believes will further enhance production capacity. These recommendations are now being put into place.
Both FASC's and Beaupre's management are overwhelmingly satisfied with the test results and, on October 30, 2001, signed a new comprehensive agreement for setting up and operating the proposed joint venture.
In other news, our landlord at the Cloverdale site advises that he has finally received the balance of the 65 ft engineered roof trusses for the demonstration building and expects to be in a position to give us occupation this month. In the meantime, the first KDS machine ordered by B & B Poultry Waste Management has been delivered to their Abbotsford site, and FASC will operate from there with high volume product tests for B & B, Thermix and others until the Cloverdale site is ready.
