I am sorry to go against your preconscieved and ethnocentric notion of reality. Sufism is the Arabized word for Dervishism, which dates before Islam and we Already established that Dervish is a preislamic persian word. Here are some interesting facts: Devishes when chanting to their god, say Ya Hu, that means Ya Ahu or Ya Ahura, which is was the Persian diety before Islam.

Now lets talk about Allah your diety. Allah was a idol diety of Mohammad father's temple. Mohammad's father's name was Abdullah, which means the curtain bearer of Allah, because he opened the curtain for the statue of allah for everyone in the temple to look at and pray to. If Mohammad was the first person who thought of the word Allah then why was his father's name Abdullah. If anything his father should have been the prophet, or you may even argue his grand father should have been the prophet, who had the wisdom to name his son Abdullah.

To eliminate your further ignorance regarding your religion, at the time there were four Gods that Arabs worshipped at various part of their country, Allah, Allat, Almenat and Ozzi. Mohammad killed off the followers of the other dieties and made his supreme. Thus "Allah is Great" is the chant of Islamists, to emphasize the supremacy of Allah over the other Arab dieties.
